You Know the Music…Now Meet the Man
by Veritas on Feb.25, 2015, under News, Press &Reviews
You’ve heard Nathan East play bass guitar before.
At least it’s very, very likely you have.
East is a session bass player without equal. He’s performed on more than 2,000 recordings with a list of artists that includes Michael Jackson — on the “Bad” album — Phil Collins, Kenny Loggins, Al Jarreau, Eric Clapton and hundreds more.
He was even one of the composers of “Get Lucky,” a worldwide hit for Daft Punk.
“It’s been one of those careers where I just wake up every day and pinch myself,” he says.
Nathan East to tour with Eric Clapton in 2014
by Veritas on Jan.03, 2014, under News
Guitar legend Eric Clapton has once again recruited bass giant Nathan East to his touring band. East, who played with Clapton from 1984 to 2004, will be hitting the road with the former Cream guitarist in 2014, starting in Japan.
The rest of the band includes keyboardists Chris Stainton and Paul Carrack, vocalists Michelle John and Sharon White, and drummer Steve Gadd.
Nathan East’s prolific recording career includes Clapton’s “Tears in Heaven” and “Change the World.” More recently he laid down the low end on the smash hit Daft Punk track “Get Lucky.” (Editor’s note: check out our Stories Behind the Songs with Nathan for more.)
East is currently working on his first ever album as a solo band leader.

Bassist Nathan East Discusses Fourplay’s New Album & His Days with Eric Clapton
by Veritas on Dec.03, 2012, under Press &Reviews
With more than 20 years together and a dozen records under their belts, Nathan East and the members of Fourplay show no signs of slowing down.
The quartet’s latest release, Esprit De Four, continues the trend of exceptional musicianship and songwriting prowess that’s become a staple of the smooth jazz super group. There are amazing grooves and melodies in “Firefly,” “All I Wanna Do” and the beautiful “Put Our Hearts Together,” which was written as a tribute for the people of Japan following the devastating tsunami. Alongside Chuck Loeb (guitar), Bob James (keyboards) and Harvey Mason (drums), East shows why he’s one of the most in-demand bassists in music today.
